EARLY DEFECT DETECTION AT THE CUTTING STAGE

The earlier defects are detected, the better. That is why we have developed an intelligent glass scanner with our Jumbo Controller, which shines with one outstanding advantage: placed directly in the cutting area, every high-contrasted defect from Ø 1 mm in the glass is identified there—without prior washing and without compromise. Any defect that could lead to a complaint is reliably detected at this stage.

MAXIMIZING PRODUCTIVITY AND PROFITABILITY

This highly productive solution will impress your controllers as well. Profitability is maximized right from the start of the value chain, as glass with defects can be removed from production before further processing. Alternatively, waste areas can be strategically positioned on detected defects directly in the cutting plan.

The channels used

The system, equipped with up to two different camera and illumination arrangements (brightfield and reflection channel), is integrated directly after the tilt table and before the cutting table to inspect raw glass before cutting. This position prevents additional contamination from cutting oil, while existing separation powder particles are effectively hidden. Each channel focuses on different defect types, and thanks to the modular structure of the Jumbo Controller, the reflection channel is only required when coating inspection is needed.
