INSPECTION OF THE FULL IG UNIT‍

Next to the Quality Scanner 3D, the Quality Checker IG is indispensable for quality-driven IG production. While the Quality Scanner 3D monitors the quality of single sheets, the Quality Checker IG inspects the entire IG unit. Positioned in the IG line after the press and before the sealer, it detects defects caused by the press (e.g., pressed-in butyl) and assembly issues such as misaligned spacers, grids, bars, or Georgians.

PRECISION OPTICAL CONTROL

‍Using a patented Telecentric Brightfield Channel, the Quality Checker IG avoids errors caused by camera opening angles. Parallel light projection ensures a perpendicular (0°) view of the IG unit, identifying irregularities in spacer or grid alignment, bar straightness, and other assembly issues. The system ignores labels or non-defective elements to prevent false alarms, ensuring only true defects are flagged.

REAL-TIME RESULTS & OPERATOR FEEDBACK‍

Inspection results are displayed on the operator’s monitor in real time. The system highlights defects clearly (e.g., scratches in red as out-of-spec, allowed bubbles in blue), allowing operators to prevent defective units from reaching customers. This provides reliable, consistent quality assurance for IG production lines.
